Terms of Use & Data Policy

Last updated: 4 July 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website at stocksvisualized.com and stocksvisualised.com, together with all pages, application programming interfaces (“APIs”), data, charts, and content made available through them (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME] (“StocksVisualized,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, whether as a human visitor or through any automated system, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.

Plain-language summary (not a substitute for the Terms below). Browse freely. The underlying numbers come from public SEC filings and belong to no one — but our normalized dataset, its arrangement, our methodology, charts, text, and brand are ours. You may cite or quote limited figures if you attribute us and link back. You may not bulk-copy, scrape around our controls, republish our dataset, or build a competing database from it. The data is for information only and is not financial advice.

1.Acceptance & Eligibility

By using the Service you represent that you are able to form a binding contract and that your use complies with all applicable laws. These Terms apply equally to human users and to any bot, crawler, agent, script, model, or other automated system that accesses the Service (each an “Automated Agent”). If you access the Service on behalf of an organization, you accept these Terms for that organization and represent that you are authorized to do so.

2.The Service & the Nature of the Data

The Service presents financial information about publicly traded companies. The raw, underlying facts are derived from public filings made available by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission through the EDGAR system. Those raw facts are public and are not claimed by us.

What the Service adds — and what we do claim — is the product of substantial independent effort: the selection, extraction, normalization, reconciliation, and arrangement of those facts into a consistent dataset (the “Compilation”), the proprietary methodology by which we normalize non-standardized filing data, and the original presentation (charts, layout, explanatory notes, and text). The Compilation may differ from the raw filings and from other data providers because of these normalization choices.

3.No Financial Advice; No Reliance; No Warranty of Accuracy

The Service is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not investment, financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice, is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, and does not create any advisory or fiduciary relationship. You should not make any financial decision in reliance on the Service. Always verify figures against the primary source filings and consult a qualified professional.

The data is normalized by automated processes and may contain errors, omissions, delays, or inaccuracies. We do not warrant that any figure is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any purpose. Nothing on the Service is an offer or solicitation in any jurisdiction where that would be unlawful.

4.Intellectual Property — What Is and Is Not Ours

Not claimed: individual, factual data points as reported in public SEC filings. Facts are not owned by anyone.

Claimed and protected: to the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our licensors retain all rights in (a) the Compilation as a whole, including its selection, coordination, and arrangement, which is protected as a compilation and, where applicable, by database rights; (b) our normalization and reconciliation methodology, which we treat as proprietary and confidential; (c) all original expression, including the website design and code, chart and visualization designs, explanatory notes, and written descriptions; and (d) the “StocksVisualized” name, logo, and brand. Except for the limited license in Section 5, no rights are granted to you.

5.Your Limited License

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

This license does not permit any use described in Section 7.

6.Search Engines, AI Systems & Answer Engines

We welcome indexing and citation by search engines, answer engines, and AI assistants, and we want our data to be found and referenced. Subject to these Terms, we grant operators of such systems a non-exclusive license to crawl, index, and cite the Service — including quoting limited figures to answer a user’s question — on the condition that the source is attributed to StocksVisualized with a link or clearly identifiable reference to the originating page.

This license does not extend to, and we do not permit:

Our stated preferences for automated access are additionally published at /llms.txt and /robots.txt. Where those files and these Terms address the same subject, these Terms govern.

7.Prohibited Uses

You agree that you will not, and will not permit any Automated Agent to:

  1. Bulk-extract or scrape the Service, including systematically harvesting the Compilation via the APIs, page routes, or otherwise, beyond the limited citation permitted above;
  2. Republish, redistribute, sell, sublicense, or make available the Compilation or any substantial part of it, in any form;
  3. Create a competing or derivative dataset, database, or service that is based on or substantially reproduces the Compilation or our methodology;
  4. Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any access control, rate limit, authentication, or other technical protection measure of the Service, or access the APIs other than through the interfaces we provide;
  5. Remove, obscure, or alter any attribution, provenance metadata, canonical reference, or integrity marker (see Section 9);
  6. Frame, mirror, clone, or pass off the Service or its content as your own or as originating from a source other than StocksVisualized;
  7. Impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; or
  8. Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

8.APIs & Technical Protection Measures

The Service’s APIs are provided to support the official StocksVisualized web application only. They are not a public data feed, and no right to access them independently of that application is granted. We employ technical measures — including rate limiting, request authentication, and access controls — to protect the Service. Attempting to bypass, defeat, or reverse-engineer these measures is a material breach of these Terms and may violate applicable law, including laws prohibiting the circumvention of technological protection measures and unauthorized access to computer systems.

9.Data Integrity & Provenance Markers

The Compilation contains proprietary provenance and integrity markers, which may include distinctive normalization conventions and one or more fictitious entries that do not correspond to any real security or issuer and exist solely to detect copying. These markers are not investment information and should not be relied upon. The presence of any such marker or fictitious entry in a third party’s dataset, product, or service is evidence that the Compilation was copied in breach of these Terms.

10.Attribution Requirements

Where attribution is required or requested, use the following form (or a substantially equivalent one):

Source: StocksVisualized (stocksvisualized.com), from SEC EDGAR filings.

For a specific figure, link where possible to the relevant page, e.g. https://stocksvisualized.com/NVDA/revenue. Attribution does not by itself authorize any use prohibited by Section 7.

11.Enforcement & Reporting Infringement

We may, at our discretion and without notice, limit, suspend, or terminate access to the Service for any user or Automated Agent that we reasonably believe is violating these Terms, and we reserve all remedies available at law and in equity. If you believe content on the Service, or on another site, infringes your rights — or if you wish to report a clone or unauthorized republication of our Compilation — contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] with sufficient detail to identify the material and the alleged infringement.

12.Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY DATA IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

13.Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL STOCKSVISUALIZED OR ITS OPERATORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR INVESTMENT LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

14.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StocksVisualized and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

15.No Affiliation; Third-Party Marks

StocksVisualized is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission or any company, issuer, or exchange referenced on the Service. All company names, ticker symbols, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

16.Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes take effect when we post the revised Terms with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17.Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the [State of California, USA], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in [San Francisco County, California], and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
